TwD:Lemon loaf cake

Today, tuesday, is the day we are making Lemon Loaf Cake from the book Baking with Julia. And after seeing the film, Julie and Julia, I'm so inspired to make these recipes.

This was a great recipe. The lemon made the cake fresh, great in summer times. Unfortunately here the weather is quite bad, so the feeling while eating the cake is there, the weather isn't.

If you want to taste some of the cake, you ran out of luck. I made it yesterday evening and now it's all gone. Everybody wanted to taste it, because it smelled so great and everyone liked it to.

I've also worked in my  garden today. My strawberry plants are blooming and I think I see the first tiny strawberries. I've planted the potatoes today and the radishes are growing as are the lettuce and the spinach. I can't wait for my first harvest.

If you want to see what the others thought of the recipe you can find the links on:

Next one on the planning is: Hungarian shortbread. I'm curious what that will be.

See you around.

Very nice - a hint of spring (even though the weather might not be cooperating).

I am curious about the short bread as well...Maybe I will try them this weekend :-)

So glad you liked the cake, and I love hearing about your garden. We seem to be at about the same point - potatoes planted, waiting for that first radish and strawberry. :)

Total "something shiny" moment here... I've always wanted one of those hand mixers! :D
